About the Author
Quiana Scott was born in Chicago, Illinois. She is a retired Master Sergeant who served 21 years in the United States Marine Corps and has earned numerous military, athletic, and civilian honors. She served in various roles and billets expanding from coast to coast, including overseas tours and training in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Okinawa, Japan; Germany; and a 12-month deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Her commitment to a lifelong journey to higher learning resulted in obtaining an Associate in Science in General Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Health Sciences, and a Master of Science in Sports Management. As an advocate for community work and a desire to promote the health and welfare of others, her generosity was recognized with an Outstanding Volunteer Service medal while in the Marine Corps for her volunteer efforts throughout her career, and she continues to have an impact within her local community and abroad.
Now as a self-published author, she hopes her journey will inspire others to remain resilient in their journeys toward authentic healing.
